Our Global Achievement
We're proud to announce that three members of Team Mntcrl from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Bari Aldo Moro were selected to participate in Locked Shields 2025, the world's most advanced cyber defense exercise, organized by the NATO CCDCOE (Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence).
Our team members participated at the Ljubljana satellite location, representing Italy as part of Blue Team 13 – an international squad composed of members from Italy, Slovenia, and the United States, including civilians and military representatives.
Outstanding Performance
Blue Team 13 ranked 3rd out of 17 competing teams, distinguished by excellent defensive capabilities in a high-pressure environment. The 2025 edition involved over 4,000 specialists from 41 countries, engaged in defending critical infrastructure against complex and realistic cyber attacks. The challenges required cross-disciplinary skills in technical, legal, decision-making, and communication domains.
As members of Team Mntcrl and managers of the Cybersecurity Teaching Laboratory at the Department of Computer Science, we're involved daily in training, research, and operational activities related to information security.
This extraordinary opportunity for growth and international collaboration confirms the excellence of our training and the University's commitment to promoting strategic skills for digital security.
